Jamestown, John Smith and Pocahontas
(Jamestown is where the author's father's family first landed in America - in l760. I loved visiting it for research!) Reviews:"Edwards has collected an amazing amount of information about a century of American history that is usually covered in a few pages. She is quite candid in describing the Europeans' treatment of the American Indians, and vice versa. The wealth of details about the personalities of the time is what makes this book worth buying; it's not just another re-hash of the same facts we have seen so many times before. If the reader could afford only one title on this subject, this is it. Excellent, superior in every way; should be included in all collections." The Book Report |
